AFB-2 is a two component Foulbrood and Chalkbrood treatment (Protic acid(A)+Chlorate(B))
The ready-to-use preparation is aqueous solutions containing protic acid and chlorite ion.
Use of the preparation
The preparation is applied by spraying with a sprayer on a sheet of hard plastic or metal foil of such dimensions as to match the bottom (or top) of the hive. After application, the sheet is placed under the hive frames with the treated surface so that the treated surface is in contact with the bottom of the hive.
For infected infested hives, the treatment can be repeated once a week until the disease is eliminated. In case of very severe infection the treatment should be repeated every 3-4 days.
In populated hives, the treatment should be applied in the evening rather than in the morning to avoid rapid decomposition caused by high temperature. Conversely, if there is a need for increased fumigation of hives, especially empty hives, applications should be made at a higher temperature, which promotes greater proton acid activity. Treatment of empty hives is particularly useful for the destruction of fungal spores, mites and bacteria.
Method of preparation of the working solution
Immediately before use, each concentrate (separately) is mixed with water in the proportion of 100ml of concentrate per 1.5-1.7L of water. After that the two solutions are mixed, getting 3.2-3.6 liters of the preparation. About 1/2 liter of the preparation is used for each hive.
How to store the preparation
Shelf life of the preparation at t 2÷8°C (refrigerator) - 24 months.
